                        <description>Das Thema Niedrigwasser ist nur ein Beispiel für viele Probleme, die uns durch den Klimawandel erwarten. Die ÖDP wird nicht müde, auf eine Verlangsamung der Klimaeinwirkung hinzuweisen. Gleichzeitig wollen die Öko-Demokraten konkrete Maßnahmen erarbeiten, die uns auf die bereits absehbaren Folgen des Klimawandels vorbereiten.</description>

einem regelrechten Vertrocknen der Natur, von Bachläufen</span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Georgia'"><span style="color:#000000"> bis Bäumen, die vorzeitig ihr Laub abwerfen, auf der anderen. Einige Bäche verlagern dieser Tage ihre Quelle an die Kläranlage und das Saarland steuert in den nächsten Wochen auf neue Niedrigwasserstände zu. Ökologisch ist das Thema Niedrigwasser von hera</span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Georgia'"><span style="color:#000000">usragender Bedeutung. So hängt die Lebensgrundlage der Lebewesen in unseren Gewässern in extremer Weise vom Sauerstoffgehalt, dieser von der Temperatur und den Nährstoffverhältnissen und diese letztlich auch von der zur Verfügung stehenden Abflussmenge ab.</span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="line-height:150%"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Georgia'"><span style="color:#000000">Angesichts der Klimaprognosen für das Saarland, die für die Zukunft verstärkt sommerliche Trockenheit voraussagen, fordert die </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Georgia'"><span style="color:#000000">ÖDP Saar</span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Georgia'"><span style="color:#000000"> schon seit Jahren einen Niedrigwasseraktionsplan für das Saarland, der auch zeitnah und nicht erst in Jahrzehnten umgesetzt wird. Dazu gehören unter anderem:</span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">Gerade deshalb dürfen wir </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'"><span style="color:#000000"><b>nicht an d</b></span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'"><span style="color:#000000"><b>en</b></span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'"><span style="color:#000000"><b> Grundfesten des Naturschutzes rütteln</b></span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">. Die europäischen Natu</span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">r- und Umweltschutzgesetze gehören zu den wichtigsten Errungenschaften der vergangenen Jahrzehnte. Wer sie heute im Namen kurzfristiger wirtschaftlicher Interessen infrage stellt, gefährdet langfristig genau die Grundlagen unseres wirtschaftlichen Erfolgs.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">Natürlich brauchen wir wirtschaftliche Entwicklung. Aber s</span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">ie muss klug erfolgen. Besonders kurzsichtig ist es, für den Ausbau von Autobahnen wertvolle Naturräume oder sogar Schutzgebiete zu opfern. Das ist Politik von gestern. Statt immer neue Flächen zu versiegeln, müssen wir vorhandene Potenziale besser nutzen:</span></span></span> <span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'"><span style="color:#000000"><b>Sanierung und Nachverdichtung statt Neubau auf der grünen Wiese, Revitalisierung von Industriebrachen und Leerständen statt weiterer Zersiedelung sowie eine konsequente Nutzung bereits versiegelter Flächen.</b></span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000"> Flächensparen ist aktiver Natur- und Klimaschutz – und zugleich wirtschaftlich vernünftig. Hinzu kommt eine konsequente Kreislaufwirtschaft, die Ressourcen schont und Europa unabhängiger von Rohstoffimporten macht.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">Deshalb brauchen wir jetzt keine Schwächung des Naturschutzes, sondern seine konsequente Stärkung. Dazu gehört insbesondere die</span></span></span> <span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'"><span style="color:#000000"><b>EU-Wiederherstellungsverordnung</b></span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000"> jetzt in nationales Gesetz umzusetzen oder Verzögerung. </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">Sie ist kein Hindernis für wirtschaftliche Entwicklung, sondern eine Investition in unsere Zukunft. Gesunde Moo</span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">re speichern große Mengen CO₂ und Wasser, intakte Wälder mindern Hochwasserrisiken, fruchtbare Böden sichern unsere Lebensmittelproduktion und artenreiche Ökosysteme erhöhen die Widerstandsfähigkeit unserer Wirtschaft gegenüber den Folgen des Klimawandels.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">Der aktuelle </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'"><span style="color:#000000"><b>Global Environment Outlook 7</b></span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000"> des Umweltprogramms der Vereinte</span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:'Times New Roman'"><span style="color:#000000">n Nationen (UNEP) bestätigt diese Erkenntnisse eindrucksvoll: Investitionen in den Schutz und die Wiederherstellung der Natur schaffen langfristig Wohlstand, stärken die wirtschaftliche Resilienz, verbessern die Gesundheit und vermeiden enorme Folgekosten.</span></span></span></p>
